Tilenga Safari Lodge features 13 elegant guest cottages with pleasant facilities and 2 luxury tents designed to offer sophisticated tranquility. The River Nile and the park are the main focus from an architect’s perspective and so all the cottages and luxury tents have balconies and terraces facing the magnificent sweeping views. Our Activities

Chimp Trekking

Kaniyo Pabidi Forest offers the chance to track chimpanzees and other primates in a pristine environment of mahogany and ironwood trees. Six chimpanzee groups have been habituated, making for an exciting and rewarding trekking experience.

Game Drive

Most visitors explore Murchison Falls on safari, as the park is home to 76 mammal species, including lions, leopards, elephants, Rothschild’s giraffes, Cape buffalo, and hartebeest. The Buligi area is the best spot for game viewing.

Bird Life

Murchison Falls boasts an incredible variety of birds, with over 450 recorded species. The diverse habitats make it a birdwatcher’s paradise, with the rare shoebill stork being a top attraction for many visitors.

Hiking & Nature Walks

The vast landscapes and varied scenery of Murchison Falls National Park can be explored on foot. Trails through Kaniyo Pabidi and Rabongo Forests provide sightings of many primates and birds, while walks around the Nile-Lake Albert Delta, offer possible sightings of the Shoebill.

Boat Cruise

A boat trip downstream to the papyrus delta at Lake Albert’s entrance takes 4-5 hours and offers excellent wildlife sightings. You can also disembark at a prearranged location where your driver picks you up for a game drive. Trips are organized by Wild Frontiers and UWA.

Fishing

The Nile below Murchison Falls offers thrilling challenges to anglers, with the chance to catch a massive Nile Perch—the record stands at 108kg. Fishing is restricted to designated spots, and spaces are limited, so prior booking is highly recommended.

Boat Launch to Murchison Falls

A must-do activity is the launch trip upstream to view the Falls and wildlife along the riverbanks. The round trip takes about three hours, but you can opt to leave the boat at Fajao Gorge, climb to the top, and meet your driver for pickup. Trips are run by UWA and Wild Fro

Top of Falls

The most dramatic view of Murchison Falls is from the Top of Falls, where the crashing Nile creates an unforgettable sight and sound. You can reach this breathtaking spot by vehicle or a short half-hour hike from the boat launch.
